Our Philosophy
King Solomon’s words (found in the Bible in Proverbs chapter 22, verse 6) are at the heart of the philosophy of Bethel Christian Preschool.
Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older they will remain on it.
Bethel’s goal is to provide a Christ-centered environment with carefully balanced programs which will be a positive influence on the spiritual, mental, social, and physical development of each child.
We are dedicated to maintaining the most professional staff, the best facilities, and the highest quality of Biblically oriented curriculum available, which we believe will enable us to achieve our goal and our desire to provide the finest Christian preschool program possible.
Staff

Curriculum
All of our children are exposed to Bible truths, prayers, and Christian attitude development. Our Christ-centered curriculum includes reading readiness, language development, music and movement, literature, creative arts, science and math, dramatic expression, and large and small muscle activities.
Our children are divided into groups by age. We have 3 sections:
Section 1 = 2 ½ year olds* and young 3 year olds
Section 2 = 3 year olds and young 4 year olds
Section 3 = 4 year olds and young 5 year olds.
Wiith few exceptions, a child will stay in the enrolled section until the following August.
* A two year old class is not always available – check with the director for exact class ages.
Bethel Christian Preschool is in operation 12 months a year. The Preschool year begins the first week of August and ends the last week of August. We have divided the 52 weeks into four, thirteen week units. During each unit all children will experience Bible truths, curriculum theme discussion, two alphabet letters, the number and varying activities in our curriculum each week.
All of our children experience the same variety of curriculum only geared to their own level of development and age.
Weekly Curriculum Activities include Bible truths; curriculum theme discussion; alphabet recognition and/or printing; number recognition and/or printing; learning games for shapes, sizes, spatial relationships; small muscle eye/hand coordination; skills of cutting, puzzles, beads, and pegs; large muscle development activities of skipping, hopping, running, balancing, throwing, and catching. (Please see sample class schedule in appendix.)
Math and science experiences of counting, solving word problems, cooking, planting, cultivating, harvesting, nature walks and discoveries; creative art exploration of painting, pasting, coloring and playdough™; music activities of singing, movement expression, instrument playing, and rhythm development; literature experiences of Bible stories, curriculum theme stories, and fun-time stories; language art expression through question and answer activities, child story telling, and finger plays; dramatic play activities of family life, community life, and pretend expression.
During early mornings and late afternoons, we may be showing video movies or cartoons. With few exceptions, all videos are Christian based. All other videos have been screened for suitability and edited accordingly.
Field Trips – Our children will be enjoying the added adventure of local field trips. Children travel by school bus. All trips will be announced in advance. It is the parent’s responsibility to keep current in all activities.
Some trips require a small fee which must be paid, in cash, in advance or the child will not be allowed to participate. Parents who prefer that their child not participate in an activity must make other arrangements for child care on that day.
