To our BCS Families,
I look at the calendar and it is hard for me to believe that the school year is just about over. After approximately eight weeks of remote learning we are almost to the finish line. I am sure our students, and in some cases, our families can take a break from our online program. It has been one crazy 4th quarter of the school year and I hope we never have to experience another one like this again.
Here is an update on the final days of the school year.
Registration 2020-21 School Year
We continue to receive a lot of phone calls and emails from new families interested in registering their child(ren) at Bethel for the next school year. Many of these families are unhappy with the public-school system and how the COVID -19 situation negatively impacted their child’s academics. We look forward to serving these new families.
REMINDER: Our early registration discount for the 2020-21 school year ends on June 1, 2020.
Elementary
Our K-5 classrooms will be open on Friday, May 15 from 2pm to 4pm to give parents the opportunity to return schoolwork, chromebooks (if one was loaned out to your student), and textbooks (if required by your student’s teacher). K-5 teachers may still have some Google Meet time with students the last few days of school, May 18-20. This will not be mandatory.
The last day of school is Wednesday, May 20.
Middle/High School
FINALS WEEK is almost here. Starting on Monday, May 18 thru Wednesday, May 20, students in grades 6-12 will be having their finals. The finals schedule has been sent out in a separate email from Mrs. Pangkee. If you have any questions or you are missing the schedule, please email her at npangkee@bethelchristianschools.com.
CHROMEBOOK AND CHARGER RETURN FOR GRADES 6-11. Although the last day of the school year is Wednesday, May 20, we are asking all students to return their school issued chromebook and charger on Thursday, May 21 from 9am to 3pm. This will allow us the opportunity to clean and repair the device, if needed.
CHROMEBOK AND CHARGER RETURN FOR SENIORS. We are asking seniors to return their chromebook and charger on Tuesday, May 26 from 11am – 1pm.
Please contact the school office at 951-359-1123 or email Mrs. Lemus at alemus@bethelchristianschools.com if you need to request a different return date and time for the device. Reminder: If the chromebook and charger is not returned, your FACTS account may be charged up to $350. This is the replacement cost for the device and charger.
Emergency Summer Daycare
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, our Summer Sonshine Program continues to be on pause. We are hoping to start this program in any modified form when the County allows us to. In the meantime, we will be offering an EMERGENCY SUMMER DAYCARE PROGRAM starting Tuesday, May 26. Registration packets, along with program details, will be available in the school office or K-5 classrooms this Friday, May 15.

I would like to pour out my gratitude to all our families who have made the adjustments, emailed me concerns and recommendations, and made sacrifices to allow our BCS staff to continue to teach your child(ren). I cannot be prouder of the way we all came together to finish off the school year with our heads up and our shoulders back.
I pray that each one of our families has a safe and enjoyable summer break.
